Romantic advice from an 82 year old NEWLYWED!
This is Jay and this blog is for the boys. Not that the ladies can’t read it, but I got some great advice this weekend from an 82 year old NEWLYWED! We were conducting a Celebrate Your Marriage workshop in Woodstock, VA, just outside DC. This spry 82 year old approached me with a big grin on his face and a beaming bride at his side. He told me that they dated for two years until she finally said “YES” and now have been married for just 4 months.
Then he leaned in and said, “You need to tell all those young fellas that WHAT THEY DID TO CATCH HER IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO KEEP HER!”
Sage advise from a wise man. Guys we really do have to keep “Wooing ” our wives throughout our marriage. Life makes it easy to take her for granted and when we do WATCH OUT, because that’s when bad things can start happening to good marriages.
So take it from the 82 year old NEWLYWED…Date your wife, bring her flowers, call her for no good reason, bring her breakfast in bed…do whatever it takes to insure you KEEP HER!
